On This Day At Manchester United
1921: Last Match William Henry "Billy" Meredith with United. Won 3-0 v Derby County.
Meredith ended his United career with a record as the oldest player: 46 years, 281 days.
Meredith's unique, he's a legend for 2 club Manchester: United & City. Note his record is very good in both clubs TSB.
Began his career as a professional player in the City in 1894, Meredith helped them win the Second Division twice.
Meredith moved to United in 1906 with a free transfer status. At that time he was 32 years old.
United won the league brought for the first time in 1908, the FA Cup in 1909, and the next league trophy 2th later.
15 years of uniformed United, Meredith recorded 335 appearances and scored 36 goals. He decided to return to the City in 1921.
